For insurance professionals in South Central Texas
Buy-sell agreements funded on a value nobody has checked.
Most closely-held buy-sell agreements in Texas were funded against a number set at signing and never revisited. If the company has doubled since then, the coverage no longer buys the interest it was written to buy.

Our standing offer to you
A complimentary Broker Opinion of Value for any client you send us.
No fee. No obligation to list. No engagement letter. Send us an owner who wants to know what their company is actually worth and we prepare it at no charge — a real number instead of a rule of thumb, with you still the trusted advisor in the conversation that follows.
And no referral fee — in either direction. We do not pay them and we do not ask you to accept one. You are compensated by the client work the deal creates on both sides of it.
What this is worth to your practice
- 01
Stale valuations under-fund the agreement.
A fixed value or an old formula quietly becomes wrong as the business grows. The gap shows up at the worst possible moment, when a surviving partner has to buy an interest the policy will not cover.
- 02
A market-grounded number is a reason to review.
A Broker Opinion of Value gives you a concrete, non-salesy basis for reopening the conversation with an existing client, and a normal review cadence after that.
- 03
Key-person coverage should be sized to something real.
Owner dependence is the single largest discount buyers apply to small companies. That same dependence tells you what a key-person loss would actually cost — and how much coverage the business needs.
- 04
Closing is a full policy review event.
New ownership, new entity, new lender requirements, new liability and property coverage, and the seller's personal coverage rewritten around a liquidity event. Advisors who are in the file before closing write that business.
- 05
Both sides of the transaction need you.
The buyer needs coverage in place at funding, often as a lender condition. The seller needs personal planning around the proceeds. One closing, two files.

How it works
Step 1
Call or email us.
Industry, rough revenue, why they are thinking about it. Ten minutes on the phone is usually enough.
Step 2
We prepare the Opinion of Value.
At no cost, under confidentiality. You decide whether it goes to your client from us or from you.
Step 3
You stay in the file.
If the owner moves forward you are on the deal team from letter of intent through closing, where the structure and the tax outcome are decided.
Also free to your clients, any time: our Roadmap to Success guide to selling a business, and a sample Confidential Business Review — the buyer-facing document we produce for every listing.
Questions advisors ask
- Do you charge for the Opinion of Value?
- Not when it comes through you as a referring advisor. There is no engagement letter and no obligation to list.
- Can it be used to set buy-sell funding?
- It is a market-based indication of likely selling price and a sound planning input. It is not a certified business appraisal, and where an agreement or a filing requires one, a formal appraisal should be obtained.
- Do you pay referral fees?
- No, and we do not ask you to accept one in the other direction.
- How often should the value be revisited?
- For an active closely-held company, revisiting every two to three years, or after any material change in earnings, is a reasonable cadence.
